Are You looking for a legitimate FatCow Review? Then you have reached the right spot. The web hosting company called “FatCow” is a web hosting brand owned by Endurance International, established in 1998 and run out Burlington, MA – in possibly the same data-center as their sister brand iPage.

FatCow Review – Ultimate Review of FatCow Web Hosting!

Contents Of This Review

This web hosting company made a name for itself by providing web hosting services for small to medium-sized businesses. The company, despite the whimsical name, also happens to be one of the oldest in the business.

Fatcow Review 2017

The hosting company has made their name with a specific focus on beginner and DIY website owners, and a fun, friendly brand – both of which stand out in an industry traditionally focused on developers and technical server jargon.

When it comes to super cheap (but quite reliable) web hosting providers, it’s tough to compete with the sound value that this company brings to the table. While it might have a bit of a silly name to some, this incredibly cheap and effective web hosting service is taken very seriously, as I soon found out after giving it a trial run.

Don’t be fooled by their lower price and other fake fat cow reviews, their feature-rich offerings are adequate for many users, particularly first-timers. Website builders with eCommerce and a free domain get you started quickly and easily; unlimited disk space, bandwidth, and emails give you room to grow.

The data center of FatCow is located in Boston, USA, giving place to 800 servers. The facility is under constant security surveillance. Be-sided physical protection, there are two firewalls keeping the servers safe. There are many other factors about Fatcow web hosting. Read our complete FatCow review of 2018.

FatCow Plans and pricing

FatCow often offers promotions, coupons, and special offers to customers during their initial term. You can find these deals on the FatCow site itself as well as reputable coupon sites. All sign-ups come with 24/7 phone, chat, and email support, a free domain registration, and an anytime money-back guarantee.

Features of FatCow Web Hosting

You get the pretty mainstream and the baseline amount of unlimited services – unlimited space, bandwidth, add-on users, email accounts, etc – but are also able to do that with a very, very friendly price tag.

  • Bonus Adwords Voucher! Get visitors to your site immediately by using the $100 Ad-words voucher.
  • Facebook Advertising Credit – Tap into social traffic. You can start with $50 Facebook ad credit.
  • Free Yellow pages Listing: Get your site listed on YP.com, a directory for people looking for local services.
  • WordPress Blogging: Use the best blogging platform to publish your website.

FatCow Login Control Panel Tools

The web hosting service offers enough advanced features to appeal to beginners and experienced users alike. The web hosting service supports WordPress, Gallery2, and phpBB, allowing you to turn your website into a blog or add message boards and photo galleries.

It allows for the transfer of domain names and other data, plus you can customize 404 pages, which can help you retain branding and possibly entertain customers even if a customer runs into a broken web link.

The company provides several eCommerce services, including a shopping cart and PayPal integration. FatCow also offers a free trial to Doba, which offers hundreds of products with which to fill a store. You get an advertising credit to use with search engines or social media.

For all the fun and friendliness of the FatCow website, our testers did not find its administrative panel easy to use.

FatCow Hosting Uptime Guarantee

FatCow does not offer an uptime guarantee, so they don’t publish such statistics. That doesn’t mean one cannot keep uptime records.

Moreover, the data center employs a clustered architecture on all its servers (i.e. if one has to go down, another one will take over, no question asked!) The backup operation is also done at regular intervals, to minimize the risk of losing data.

Fatcow is one of the many web hosting companies that can boast of almost 100% uptime. While there is no perfect solution for web hosting (even the sites of giants like Amazon go down from time to time), especially when so many variables are introduced, you can expect high uptime and responsiveness.

An automatic backup option is available for customers who are willing to pay to have their sites backed up daily. It consists of the daily backup routines and a backup and restores tool. If you do not want to pay, it is prudent on your part to back up your data regularly.

FatCow Customer Support

This is where Fatcow has really begun to flex its muscles and separate itself from everyone else in the (admittedly) crowded web hosting industry.

The average wait time was over 13 minutes. It’s far from the worst wait time we experienced in our testing, but anything over 10 minutes isn’t great. It does offer 24/7/36 support, so if you try during low traffic hours, you may have a faster response time.

Take note that all these mentioned coming free. But the absence of forum or message board makes it difficult for you to look for help from other users. They are not into wiki either! All these suggest that the company would like you to approach their technical support department when you run into a problem with their service.

Another thing that shows how nontransparent the company is is the fact that it never explicitly says that if their support operation is outsourced or maintained in-house.

FatCow Review – Our Final Verdict.

The company advertises their packages as unlimited disk space and bandwidth. It is a shared web hosting account, so anything excessive may be suspended or even banned. Therefore FatCow is not applicable if you are planning to use it for intensive activities, such as file-sharing, photo gallery (may have an issue if your traffic is big), etc.

Actually, this limitation is almost imposed by all web hosting companies unless you are really paying premium prices for unlimited bandwidth and disk space.

For legit purposes and/or moderate traffic, FatCow is really a bargain. Highly recommended for small-medium business owners and WordPress bloggers. If you are looking for a cheap web hosting along with a lifetime free domain and better features, I will suggest you read my FastComet Hosting Review.
